The Information Technology and Society laboratory hosts projects exploring the impact of information technology on different aspects of modern society: economy, individual rights, culture, communication, jobs, education. Projects are interdisciplinary at their core that both require and foster the interaction between information technology experts, experts of other domains and - in many situations - also the general public.

Partners of the research projects and end-users are typically organizations and institutions that do not belong to the IT industry, or IT organizations interested in assessing the societal impact of technology and their use.

The laboratory will be hosted in a specific space, independent of disciplinary laboratory in order to foster exchanges and interactions between different domains.
